Hobbies and Interests I'm one of those types who seems to have a million hobbies and interests. One of those interests became my job (astronomy, for those following at home). I have a big interest in science in general and public education of science. I have a big interest in history, and British history in particular. As you might have seen on the side bar, I also run a big website on the Tudor Dynasty. I also have a great love of castles, which you will see if you browse throught the photography and travel section of this site. I also love to sew, do needlework (cross stitch and blackwork in particular) and quilting. As happens to a lot of people who are interested in the Tudors, I also dabble in costuming and have fun going to Renaissance Festivals (you can see photos from the Texas Renaissance Festival in the Photo pages). I was having trouble figuring out how to organize the needlework and sewing into the re-vamped website, and of course, the answer was staring me in the face for a while before I figured out that a blog was the perfect solution... Family history is another interest of mine, even though I haven't had a lot of time to do much on it lately. For now, I have posted some basic info on some of my family lines and some neat old photos. I also love gardening, but don't have a lot of photos or things to write about on that subject right now, but there are some up at my Flickr pages. And last but not least (for now), I also am interested in writing, particularly historical fiction. Check out the writing section for some tips, samples and thoughts about what I would like to write if I had more time! |
