I tried to get some snaps in the National Museum of American History, but they didn't come out very well. Be sure and see the Foucault Pendulum and the History of Computers. They have everything from parts of Eniac to a Pentium II chip! (And now I can really make jokes about the old Mac Classics floating around work belonging in a museum, there is one in the Smithsonian!)

In a classic bit of irony, one of the exhibits I was looking forward to seeing the most, the Ruby Slippers from The Wizard of Oz was part of the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, that was in Houston shortly before my trip to DC. And of course, I missed it while it was a three hour drive from home! Oh well, guess that is a good reason to return someday...

Due to a lack of high speed film, I don't have a lot of pictures from inside the Smithsonian Museums. If you are planning to take pictures in the museums, take 400+ film and/or a flash!
