FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. E. BLAKENEY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27 Funeral service were held Wednesday, March 27, for Mrs. Eleanor (Norris) Blakeney, age 80, who died at her home Tuesday, March 26, after an illness of several months. Rev. Geo. E. Stewart, Sr. officiated and burial was made in the Runge Cemetery.
Mrs. Blakeney was born in Taylorsville, Mississippi on May 12, 1865, and on August 19, 1880, was married to J.D. Blakeney and to this union were born eight boys and seven girls, six of whom preceded her in death. In 1896 she moved to Karnes County where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, J.D. Blakeney; five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Brown, Clyde [TX], Mrs. Eleanor Yarrington, Houston [TX], Miss Erma Blakeney, Austin [TX], Mrs. Addie Randall, Edinburg [TX], Mrs. Louise Robertson, San Antonio [TX]; four sons Sim and Taylor Blakeney, Karnes City [TX], Anslem Blakeney, Baytown [TX], Wm. N. Blakeney, Rock Springs [TX]; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were H.R. Kohlenberg, Sr., Claude Winerich, F.F. Kolodzie, S.G. Kendrick, J.R. Mills, and S.E. Crews, Jr.
